Our ability to separate ourselves from Nature is the first step in separating ourselves from one another. Once we disrespect the water that comprises 75% of our body or the soil that composes our flesh, or even the sun that radiates our mental, emotional and bone health, it is a short step in disrespecting other humans.
We can reverse our personal separations based on race, and our institutional separations based on age as we study and embody lessons from Mother Nature University. Nature was designed to regenerate when left in its bio-diverse state. Society regenerates best in intergenerational and multi-cultural states. Even though society has chosen an agricultural term to describe the way we separate ourselves from one another, let’s remember that only grain can be stored in silos; and mono-culture is not healthy anywhere we find it!
