Land is a healing balm for our souls, the source of good food, and a vessel for communal wealth.

“Land must be recentered in our food justice conversations”, says Cicely Garrett of Black Food and Justice Alliance. We seek land to support cultural, food sovereignty in Lenape territory; to cultivate a food value chain between urban and rural farmers using rematriation. Rematriation is an Indigenous Woman-led restoration of the sacred relationship between people and land. In this model social justice begins as inner balance and then radiates out into our social, economic and political systems.

As an intertribal and intergenerational federation of Black and Indigenous organizations, we provide land for ancestral ways of growing food to urban and rural farmers so that we all may learn how to experience resilience to 7 generations. Solidarity gatherings create opportunities for farmers to plan and implement a regional food network. Activities on the land will include healing retreats for food/social justice workers, farmer to farmer training in Indigenous land management, native and medicinal plant nursery, mutual aid gardens.
